What a new system has to deal with depends on where the yard is.

Most Kerman installs are new construction: a back yard of bare dirt, one stub-out, and a builder front yard that was never zoned for the back. We plan the whole yard once instead of bolting the back onto the front.

Sprinkler Installation Questions

How much does a new sprinkler system cost?

It depends on the size of the yard, how many zones it needs, and what the water line and pressure look like. That is why we come look instead of quoting a number over the phone. You get one written price and that is the price.

Why not just quote it from photos like repairs?

Because an install is decided by things a photo cannot show: static pressure, where the main comes in, how the ground slopes, what is already buried out there. A repair is a known part. A system is a plan.

How long does an install take?

Most residential systems go in over one to three days depending on the size of the yard and whether sod or rock is going in behind it.

Can you install while we are putting in sod or rock?

That is the best time to do it. Irrigation goes in before the ground cover, so if you are doing both we schedule them together and only open the yard once.

Do you install drip for flowerbeds and trees?

Yes, and on most Valley yards it is the part that saves the most water. Beds and trees get their own zone so they are not on the lawn schedule.

Do you install smart controllers?

Yes. Rachio, Hunter, B-hyve and similar. They adjust with the weather, which matters here where a July schedule will drown a yard in October.
