Lawn Care FAQs
How often should I have my lawn mowed?
During the hot Central Valley summers (May–September), we typically recommend bi-weekly mowing, with every-4-weeks service in cooler months. We adjust mowing height seasonally — taller in summer to shade roots and retain moisture, shorter in spring and fall for a clean look.
What does your lawn care maintenance include?
Every visit includes mowing, edging along walkways and driveways, string trimming around obstacles, and blowing off hard surfaces. We also monitor your lawn for signs of pests, disease, or irrigation issues and let you know if anything needs attention.
Do you offer one-time mowing or only recurring service?
We offer both. Most customers choose bi-weekly or every-4-weeks recurring service for the best results, but we also do one-time mows for special occasions, property cleanups, or rental turnovers.
What areas do you serve for lawn care?
We serve Kerman, Fresno, Clovis, and surrounding Central Valley communities. Whether you are in downtown Kerman, Woodward Park in Fresno, or Harlan Ranch in Clovis — we have you covered.
How much does lawn care cost in the Central Valley?
Most residential lawn care in Kerman, Fresno, and Clovis ranges from $35–$65 per visit for bi-weekly mowing, edging, and cleanup. Every-4-weeks plans typically run $80–$250 depending on yard size and frequency. We provide free in-person estimates with transparent pricing and no long-term contracts.
What height should I mow my Bermuda grass?
Keep Bermuda grass at 1.5–2 inches during the growing season. In summer, raise the height to 2 inches to shade roots and retain moisture during extreme Central Valley heat. In spring and fall, 1.5 inches gives a clean, manicured look. Never cut more than one-third of the blade at a time.
When should I fertilize my lawn in the Central Valley?
Apply the first fertilizer in March when grass exits dormancy. Follow up in May with slow-release nitrogen. Skip high-nitrogen fertilizer in July–August peak heat — it forces growth the grass cannot sustain. Apply a winterizer in October. Use ammonium sulfate products for our alkaline soil.
Why is my grass turning yellow even though I water it?
Yellow grass in Fresno, Kerman, and Clovis is usually iron chlorosis caused by alkaline soil (pH around 8.0). The high pH prevents grass from absorbing iron. Apply chelated iron in EDDHA form for quick results. We include iron treatments in our seasonal lawn care programs to prevent recurring yellowing.
Should I bag or mulch my grass clippings?
Mulch your clippings — they return nitrogen and organic matter to the soil as they decompose. This is especially beneficial in the Central Valley where alkaline soil needs organic material. Only bag clippings if the grass is very tall and clumps are smothering the lawn underneath.
Do you provide weed control as part of lawn care?
We monitor for weeds during every maintenance visit and can spot-treat as needed. For comprehensive weed prevention, we recommend a pre-emergent application in mid-February before crabgrass germinates, followed by spot treatment of broadleaf weeds through the season. Ask us about adding weed control to your plan.
